Welcome to the Jazzmen web site!

We are a piano/sax duo playing jazz standards and original songs. Bernie Thompson plays piano and Mike Seifried plays tenor and alto saxophone.

Our music -

As you can see from our song list, our music is steeped in the Great American Song Book. George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Hoagy Carmichael, Duke Ellington - the American songwriters who composed what we know today as "standards" form the basis of our music. We like to mix up the tempos for variety and interest, but it's always music you can relax with.

We also like to add a dash of bossa nova and other Latin rhythms as well as a little spice from well known jazz giants like Thelonius Monk, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, and Dizzy Gillespie. In addition, we play a number of original songs that go well stylistically with the rest of our mix.

Our music is well suited for special events, such as corporate gatherings and private parties, and it fits well in restaurant, bar, and coffee house settings. We normally structure our program from a collection of standard sets, but we can tailor a program to suit your needs and prepare most any special request you might have within the general area of our musical style.
